I’m in Chicago and I’m trying to buy rainier beer for.... reasons (I’m a dork and binging on longmire currently). Anybody know anywhere I can find it and get it shipped to IL? Haven’t had any luck with any of the sites I’ve tried. Would a liquor store be able to order some? This is like the first time I’ve wanted something reasonable that I haven’t been able to find online and my first world privilag e is enraged. All I want is another region’s cheap beer dammit!

As far as I know they don’t sell Rainier east of western Montana. Very much a Pacific Northwest thing.

I’m in Chicago and I’ve never seen it here. You could ask Binnys ( or any good liquor store) if they’ll order it for you, but I’m 90% sure that the answer will be no.
Bribe a PNW Oppo maybe?

I don’t remember ever seeing outside of this area, but I haven’t bought Ranier since the days when Mickey Rooney used hunt wild ones.

As of last year, you can buy locally-brewed Lagunitas.
And thanks to I-65, I can get fresh Lagunitas, too.
God bless us, everyone.

It’s on Amazon, have Bezos ship it to you. Owned by Pabst (which apparently is owned by the Ruskies now....) Honestly, it’s not a bad American Lager - better than the Bud weiser products...

Get a Chicago Handshake. A shot of Malort and an Old Style Beer! It is Tradition!

I visited western Canada in 1986 and the Canadian brewers were on strike. The only beer you could get was Olympia and Rai nier.

You can get it in Utah.
I read the Longmire books myself.

How are the books? I'm on my second run through the show, I just have a hard time reading these days, my attention span is completely shot, I need a minimum of two screens at all times now, but I do still attempt to read once in a while, I was a bookworm 15 years ago.

I’ve read almost all of them, I think they’re great. The books are in a loose sequence, you don’t have to read them in order, but it helps, as certain events are referenced in them.
Also, there’s a lot of big differences between the books and tv show, Walt and Henry are Vietnam veterans, Lucian was one of Doolittle’s Raiders, Cady lives in Philly, and Vic says “fuck” a lot. That’s what I can tell you without giving away plot points. I can tell you one of the books does a riff on Dante’s Inferno.
